Each half term, there will be a sport-specific club for any Key Stage 2 children.
At the start of the school year, the children were asked what they would like to do and the following initial suggestions were made:-
High 5 Netball Dodgeball Gym Rugby Rounders Football (this will run as a separate club later)
For the Autumn term 2018 we will play Netball outdoors, then Dodgeball indoors.
For Spring 2019, we will start with Gymnastics, then review the remaining suggestions based on the children’s responses in the new year.
On Tuesday afternoon from 3.15pm to 4.15pm children from years 1, 2 and 3 are welcome to come along to a fun-filled active session. During this session we will play a variety of games that will get their hearts racing whilst developing physical skills including catching, throwing, hitting and moving in a variety of ways. The children love playing games such as stuck in the mud, dodgeball, beans, poison, hide and seek. Also it gives them the opportunity to develop turn taking and social skills outside the classroom. A variety of other activities are carried out including parachute games, obstacle courses and simpler versions of sports such as rounders and football. The club is child led allowing them to choose weekly what they would like to do.
